Please review the policies below that help guide the operations and standards of Unity Volleyball Club.
For matters not specifically covered within these policies, Unity Volleyball Club follows the guidelines and regulations set by the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) and Volleyball Canada.

Unit code of conduct policy
“Individuals” - All individuals engaged in activities with the Unity Volleyball Club (Unity), including but not limited to athletes, coaches, volunteers, managers, administrators, directors and officers of Unity and parents of Unity members.
Parent Resolution Protocol Form
Unity Volleyball values open and respectful communication with our families. This form provides parents and guardians with a formal way to share concerns, feedback, or issues that require follow-up.
Parent Resolution Process
We are implementing a clear, consistent process for addressing any concerns or questions related to your athlete’s experience. Our goal is to ensure that all communication between players, parents, coaches, and management is handled professionally, respectfully, and transparently, in alignment with the OVA Rule.
Parent Complaint Form
This form is to be used for volleyball-related or technical concerns regarding coaching, skill development, training structure, or playing time. Unity’s process ensures that coaching and developmental matters are handled fairly and professionally through the correct channels.
Parent Complaint Form Moral & Behavioural
This form is to be used for any moral, behavioural, or conduct-related concerns including swearing, yelling, safety issues, or unprofessional behaviour. Unity is committed to ensuring a respectful and safe environment for all athletes, families, and staff.
Refund policy
Refunds are limited once registration is completed. Cancellations made more than 10 days before the program start may receive a refund minus an administrative fee, while later cancellations are typically non-refundable. Refunds may be issued for serious injuries or if the club removes a player for non-disciplinary reasons
concussion policy
Concussions can occur while participating in volleyball or in any sport or recreational activity. Since the circumstances under which a concussion can be sustained are so varied, it’s important for all coaches, parents, and athletes to be aware of the signs, symptoms, and what to do if a concussion occurs.
Inclement Weather policy
The safety of players, coaches, and spectators is the primary concern during all Unity Volleyball Club and Unity Sports (Unity) activities. Even though activities are scheduled rain or shine, they will proceed only as long as it is safe to do so.

Policy
The purpose of the Unity Anti-Bullying Policy is to assist all Unity volleyball programs in their goal of preventing and responding to acts of bullying, intimidation, retaliation and other similar disruptive and potentially harmful behaviours.
2023-24 OVA Coach Eligibility Policy
All athletes have the right to a safe, inclusive and responsible volleyball experience. As people in positions of authority,coaches have an important role to play in providing this type of environment. Coaches have number of responsibilities.
OVA pan canadian policy - person in authority abuse policy
The OVA Pan-Canadian Person in Authority Abuse Policy protects athletes and vulnerable participants from abuse or misconduct by individuals in authority such as coaches, staff, and officials. It sets clear behavior standards and strictly prohibits physical, psychological, or sexual maltreatment to ensure a safe sport environment.
rule of two clarification - OVA safesport PIA code of conduct
The ‘Rule of two’ means that a Person In Authority (PIA) is never alone or out of sight with a athlete. Any one-on-one interaction between a PIA and an individual athlete must take place within ear shot and view of a second PIA. If possible one of the PIAs should be the same gender as the athlete.
